The circumstances of the accident will be clarified by the investigation of the Judicial Accident Processing Service. Still, Tuesday morning around 7 a.m., a 71-year-old woman crossing Boulevard Saint-Germain was hit by the truck.

The crossroads where the accident took place, that of Odéon, was immediately cordoned off by the police. The rescuers, including a team from the Necker hospital, tried to save the victim, in vain. She died at the scene, say the Paris firefighters.

According to Le Parisien, the truck belongs to a company specializing in the collection of waste and rubble, as well as the rental of dumpsters.
