From March 15th to 17th, CATL's liquid cooled CTP energy storage solution debuted at the International Smart Energy Week held in Tokyo, Japan.

CATL battery are a type of lithium-ion battery that has gained popularity in recent years due to their high energy density and longevity. They are made up of several layers of electrodes, with the cathode being made from a blend of nickel, cobalt, and manganese. This unique composition allows CATL battery to store more energy per unit weight than traditional lead-acid battery. Additionally, they have a longer lifespan than other types of rechargeable battery, meaning they can be used for extended periods before needing to be replaced. CATL battery are also highly efficient and require minimal maintenance, making them ideal for use in electric vehicles and other applications where reliability is essential. Finally, they are eco-friendly since they use fewer hazardous materials in their construction and manufacturing process compared to other types of battery.

Japan International Smart Energy Week is dedicated to accelerating the development of the energy industry. It is the largest international renewable energy industry exhibition in Japan, focusing on displaying a variety of renewable energy technologies. At the exhibition, CATL exhibited the outdoor EnerOne electric cabinet and the outdoor prefabricated cabin system EnerC, with its advanced liquid cooled energy storage solution attracting great attention:

  • High safety: CATL's liquid cooled energy storage solution uses lithium iron phosphate batteries with high safety and stability, and has been tested and certified to multiple domestic and international standards. CATL is the first enterprise in China to obtain the latest version of UL Solutions' full series of UL 9540A test reports on battery cells, cabinets, and containers.

  • Long life: With a liquid cooling plate design independent of the exterior of the battery module, the CATL integrated liquid cooling system can control the temperature difference between 416 battery cells in a single cluster to within 3 ° C, and the temperature difference between 4160 battery cells in the entire system to within 5 ° C, effectively improving product life. CATL Outdoor Prefabricated Cabin System EnerC is the world's first standard 20-foot container type liquid cooled energy storage system for transportation integration, which can achieve 20 years of safe and reliable operation.

  • High integration: Using CTP efficient group technology, the CATL liquid cooled energy storage solution is highly integrated with subsystems such as batteries, fire protection systems, liquid cooled units, control units, UPS, and power distribution. Innovative technology leads the industry's development direction.

Thanks to a complete supply chain system, CATL is able to customize product spare parts, optimize structural design and integration, and further enhance the excellent performance of products in different markets.

CATL has established in-depth cooperation with many domestic and foreign energy companies, and its advanced energy storage solutions are widely used in major markets such as China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and Japan. The shipment volume of energy storage battery systems ranked first in the world in 2021 and 2022 for two consecutive years.

In order to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, Japan is actively promoting the use of renewable energy, in which energy storage will play a key role. CATL is committed to providing first-class solutions and services for global new energy applications, striving to accelerate the transformation of clean energy in Japan and the world, and making outstanding contributions to global sustainable development.
