The Supported Independent Living (SIL) Model is very popular in the United States and around the world. People with disabilities or mental health conditions can live in their homes with 24/seven support. SIL means that you will have 24-hour support. For example, if you call the office, someone will come out to help you. There is no limit to the amount of hours that they can assist you.

It is a big change for people living in SIL houses, as they don't have to be as restricted in their schedule as they did SIL Accommodation before. They can live just like everyone else. If they want to travel, they can travel whenever they want. They can get dressed by themselves, cook by themselves, and even attend appointments with the assistance of others.
