Read about the 6 BEST THINGS TO DO IN BOTSWANA in this article. Botswana is without a doubt one of the world's most spectacular wilderness areas. In the south and east, the Kalahari Desert and the lunar-like pans of Nxai and Makgadikgadi can be found. In contrast, the dazzling water worlds of the Okavango Delta and Chobe River ecosystem can be found to the north and west.

This variety of terrain lends itself to a wide range of activities suitable for almost any outdoor enthusiast. Whether you're visiting Botswana for the first time or the tenth time, there's always something new to discover in one of Africa's friendliest countries.

It's difficult to decide what to see and do in Botswana because safari is almost everywhere you look! However, we have been traveling the length and breadth of Africa since 1998, customizing Botswana safaris for thousands of visitors.

To assist you in making your decision, we've compiled a list of our top 6 BEST THINGS TO DO IN BOTSWANA.

1. Game Viewing on Horseback

Horseback riding safaris are among the most exclusive Botswana activities and should only be undertaken by experienced riders. You will be able to enjoy cantering through pristine floodplains in search of sitatunga, lechwe, and the horse's equine cousin, zebra, because your horse will have become accustomed to game. Don't be discouraged; many lodges offer gentle outrides for less experienced riders.

2.Hot-Air Balloon Safari in the Delta

The beauty of ballooning is that you get a true sense of the size of the Okavango Delta. Flying over it in a small plane is one thing; floating peacefully above its ox-bow lakes, counting the hippos, elephants, and buffaloes below is quite another. It's a magical experience and one of the best things to do in Botswana on your honeymoon.

If you want to go somewhere right now, remember that the world is changing . So travel the world, book a Botswana trip or to any other country like  South Africa  . Live your best life today.

3. ATV Pans Rides

In Africa, ATVs are known as quad bikes, and the Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans National Parks are ideal for them: flat, smooth areas where you can travel long distances at high speeds to reach points of interest. Wrap up against the sun, fire up the engine, and explore Botswana's seemingly endless salt flats.

4. Spending the Night Under the Stars

The night sky in Botswana has its own show: a dizzying array of stars. The magnificent Milky Way shines brightly here because there is no light or air pollution. To be honest, anywhere outside of Maun and Kasane should offer excellent stargazing opportunities. But think about the Kalahari for one reason: the skies will almost certainly be cloudless!

One of our favorite things to do in Botswana is spend the night in one of the incredible star-beds. With only a mosquito net between you and an infinite blanket of stars, drift off to the sounds of chortling hippos, giggling hyenas, and distant lion calls. A "star-bed" is exactly what it sounds like: a comfortable, open-air bed in the middle of nowhere. Some are simply built in candlelit riverbeds, while others are cradled above the treeline in rustic 'bird's nest' style platforms. Some even have en suite bathrooms and running water in their tree houses. Visit Botswana's private reserves or the Makgadikgadi Pans for out-of-this-world stargazing for an unforgettable night in the wild. This should be on your list of things to do if you're planning a honeymoon safari in Botswana.

5. Sunset Cruises on the Chobe River

The Chobe River, located in the northern Chobe National Park, is frequently where safaris to Botswana end. And what a spectacular conclusion! A sunset cruise is a traditional way to end the day because from the boat, you can see fish eagles, crocs, hippos, a variety of birds, and even water monitors. The unique angles for wildlife photography provided by boat-based game viewing are an added bonus. However, the crossing of elephant families from one bank to another is always a show stopper.

The leader crosses slowly, feeling for submerged rocks and logs, testing the depth of the water, and generally taking the safest path. As usual, the babies are in the center of the group, furiously paddling with their tiny legs when the water becomes too deep. It's an unforgettable experience and one of the top things to do in Botswana.

6. Contrast Yourself with a Baobab

In Tswana folklore, the baobab is known as "the tree God made in anger." He apparently became frustrated with the baobab and tossed it out of heaven, where it landed clumsily with its "roots" in the air, earning it the moniker "the upside-down tree." Elephants regularly mangle the bark of baobabs with their tusks to get to the moisture stored in their massive trunks. Despite this, the baobabs survive the thirst of the pachyderms.

There are many spectacular baobabs in the Makgadikgadi area, but the Baines' Baobabs in Nxai Pan National Park are the most impressive. This stunted cluster of seven baobabs, also known as the Sleeping Sisters, was immortalized in the paintings of Thomas Baines, a British landscape artist commissioned by the Royal Geographic Society in 1862.
