Users of nursing information systems (NIS) are often hesitant to use new technologies, which can result in significant resistance. This is due to preexisting beliefs about the capabilities of technology and nurses’ ability to handle it. These beliefs can instigate NURS FPX 6111 Assessment 4 Program Effectiveness Presentation resistance to learning, but they can be overcome with truth acceptance.

To address these problems, the researchers developed a questionnaire based on ISO 9241-11 usability criteria. This questionnaire was given to nursing staff in four hospitals affiliated with three medical universities. To ensure anonymity, the hospital names and software packages used by each hospital were obfuscated. Nurses in each of the hospitals were asked to rate their experience with each of the four NISs. Nurses were also asked to provide feedback NURS FPX 6416 Assessment 2 Technology Needs Assessment Summary on the system features that they most valued. For example, they were asked to evaluate the NIS’s capability for self-descriptiveness. This criterion scored low in the study, suggesting that nursing staff did not find their NISs to be sufficiently self-descriptive.

As nurses use nursing information systems (NIS) for daily work tasks, the usability of these systems is critical. If they are not user-friendly, they may result in errors, additional workload, and frustration. However, there are NURS FPX 6416 Assessment 3 Evaluation of an Information System Change ways to improve the usability of these systems. One of these ways is to include nurses in the process of system development.

To evaluate the usability of NISs, this study used a modified version of IsoMetrics based on ISO 9241-11. The questionnaire was administered to 184 nurses in four hospitals affiliated with three medical universities in Iran. To maintain confidentiality, the identities of the hospitals NURS FPX 6414 Assessment 2 Video Presentation and Spreadsheet and software vendors were obscured.

Regarding the 'controllability' criterion, the majority of the nurses agreed that the NISs conformed to their expectations. Nurses were less likely to agree about the'suitability for learning' criteria. The reasons for the disagreement NURS FPX 4050 Assessment 1 Preliminary Care Coordination Plan were mostly related to the factors 'easy to find required commands' and 'ability to navigate the screens easily'.
