As if seeing my Cincinnati Bearcats ranked in the top ten in nearly every major preseason poll were not enough, my thirst for the start of the college basketball season was exacerbated last week by a daytime TV series totally unrelated to the sport. In the court room during an episode of Judge Mathis sat Tom Izzo, the well-known championship winning basketball coach of the Michigan State Spartans.

Since Judge Mathis frequently mentions his upbringing in Detroit, it was not all that surprising that he would be acquainted with Izzo. The two men obviously share a sense of loyalty to the Great Lakes State, Mathis because of his roots and Izzo due to a storied coaching career that has included perennial appearances in the Sweet Sixteen in March.

A few weeks before Izzo had attended Matthis's show in Chicago, another famous college basketball personality had appeared as a guest in an episode of Judge Faith. Invited guest Jim Jackson was a standout who played fourteen seasons in the NBA after starring for the Ohio State University Buckeyes in college and honored as that state's high school basketball player of the year in Toledo in 1989.

When it comes to TV judges, Judy is probably the most well-known. In terms of having the most recognizable guests, however, none can top Judge Faith. Here are five other prominent celebrities who have appeared on her show over the years.
