The Nigerian economic atmosphere has been greatly bloomed by the emergence of fintech companies and startups. A decade ago, there was a monotonous pattern to financial services as traditional banks led the way and people had no other option. However, the propagation of fintech companies has slung a disruption: a plethora of innovative financial services, platforms and options. This has significantly increased payment solutions, more versatile savings services, digital investments and seamless transfers, and in fact, convenience — before now people had to go to banks to open their accounts and many times the processes are complicated, but fintech has afforded us convenience. People can now open bank accounts from the comfort of their homes, they can write to their banks, get their statement of accounts, authorize payments, etc.
