Given we are a Brisbane based business we offer installs in the South East region of Qld but can get to Bundaberg or Northern NSW if need be. You can expect to pay about $400- $450 to have the install done for you at your home or you can bring it to our premises if you prefer in Bridgeman Downs. It is approx a 2 hour process to install a tow bar depending if a wiring loom is required. DO I NEED A WIRING LOOM? A wiring loom is required only if you plan to tow a trailer or install lights on the towing object. ie a trailer, bike carrier with more than 2 bikes We offer a plug and play wiring looms and so it is an easy process to add a 7 pin round or flat plug without cutting in to the existing wiring of your precious Model Y. HOW MUCH CAN I TOW? The Model Y tow bar is rated to 1600kg towing weight and 160kg vertical weight. The vertical weight is the weight of say a bike rack with the kids bikes on it. The range achieved will suffer as the weight being towed being increased. Just like any ICE vehicle does.
